Fraunhofer AICOS continues to run the large scale trial of the AAL4ALL project. Researchers are analyzing the results of the 1st phase and we can say that users gave an excellent feedback on the features of the application.
For the 2nd phase, COLABORAR recruited 15 seniors and their respective caregivers who will participate as end-users. The trial includes an online platform for family members and/or formal caregivers such as social educators. With this online platform, caregivers can keep track of seniors’ activity level and they can also receive help requests or instant messages on their cellphones from seniors who are participating in the trial by using the smartphone application.
As with the 1st phase, the 2nd one will last for 2 months. During this time, participants can explore the features of the application in the comfort of their own homes and can also take the smartphone with them everywhere they go. In this way, they will be able to get proficient in managing the interfaces and can later select the features which they find to be more useful.

COLABORAR thanks every and each participant for the willingness and enthusiasm to participate in such an amazing and innovative project. Participants are helping Fraunhofer researchers improve the usability of the applications, so that in the future older people can have a system that is not only easy to use, as it is enjoyable and can actually improve one’s quality of life!
