At Fraunhofer AICOS we currently have a project named Graphical User Interface recommendations for ICT4D, running within our competence center ICT4D – Information and Communication Technologies for Development , which targets users in African countries and rural areas.
Within this project, researchers need to gather opinions about what they are developing, as well as to carry out usability and validation tests of the software for smartphones, using user-centered design and participatory techniques.
COLABORAR recruited volunteers from African countries among Portuguese institutions (community centers, associations of immigrants and education institutions) to participate. The first interviews have already begun and the usability tests will be carried out very soon.
