Today, April 11, is Parkinson’s Disease World Day. This day was created by the European Parkinson’s Disease Association (EPDA) in order to raise awareness about the disease. Parkinson’s Disease is a chronic neurological condition which affects 10 million individuals worldwide.
One of the research topics of Fraunhofer Portugal AICOS is the development of mobile applications aimed at improving the quality of life of people affected by Parkinson’s Disease.
We highlight the projects Fraunhofer Portugal was involved in so far: “REMPARK“, “Early Parkinson Detection“, “User interface design recommendations for fitting smartphone applications to persons with Parkinson“, “SmartCueing” and “MASPARK“.
We also share this video that illustrates very well the technological innovations in the scope of REMPARK.
MASPARK is still under development and we hope we will have good news to share with you soon!
